About Me

At Gaia’s Woodcrafts, every piece begins where nature’s story meets human imagination.

Founded and hand-crafted by Jose Ramos, each creation is a dialogue between wood, resin, and light — a celebration of the living materials that once breathed and grew beneath the sun.

Inspired by Gaia, the ancient personification of Earth herself, my work honors the beauty and imperfection of the natural world. I see every knot, grain, and curve of wood as a reflection of Gaia’s rhythm — the quiet pulse that flows through tree, tide, and stone.

Using traditional woodturning and modern techniques like segmented construction, laser engraving, and epoxy casting, I transform nature’s raw gifts into timeless works of art. My pieces — bowls, lamps, urns, and sculptural forms — carry both warmth and wonder, merging organic form with light, color, and movement.

Each object is one-of-a-kind, made by hand in Maine, where the forests and coastlines remind me daily that creation is a collaboration — between the artist, the earth, and the materials that choose to speak.
