Gaia’s Woodcrafts Nature Turned to Art.
Each piece I create begins with nature’s raw form — wood, shell, resin, light — and transforms into something alive with movement and emotion. My art bridges the organic and the luminous, bringing together the warmth of woodturning with the translucence of epoxy to capture the soul of the Maine coast. Every bowl, lamp, and sculpture reflects a conversation between grain and glow — between the natural and the imagined. Through segmented turning, layered resin pours, and intricate inlays, I explore how texture, light, and color can merge to tell a story. The results are pieces that shimmer like tide pools, breathe like ocean waves, and hold light the way glass holds memory. Many of my works — from faux stained-glass lamps to seashell-rimmed bowls — are designed to illuminate, literally and symbolically, the hidden beauty within nature’s patterns. At its heart, Gaia’s Woodcrafts is about transformation — wood reborn through artistry, resin reborn through light, and the familiar reborn through imagination. Every creation is one-of-a-kind, carrying both the hand of the maker and the spirit of the earth.
